Prior to launching Pivotal, Nick gained the depth of his government relations’ perspective through his positions in the state’s executive branch, legislative leadership staff and as a contract consultant. He was the Communications and Policy Advisor to the Majority in the Arizona State Senate. Nick also worked as the Director of Communications and Legislative Affairs for the Arizona State Land Department. In these roles, Nick developed specialized expertise in natural resource, environmental and water issues, municipal representation, business development and expansion, and government-media relations and legislative process.
Since leaving the Senate, Nick has represented an array of clients at the state, county and local level through his government relations practice for Phoenix law firm Jennings, Strouss and Salmon and government relations firm, KRB Consulting.
Nick has a B.A. from St. John’s University and a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law. He is also a member of the State Bar in both Arizona and New York. Nick has twice been appointed to the State Urban Land Planning Commission by Governor Jan Brewer, and was selected, and served, as a member of Governor Doug Ducey’s transition team.
